Why a Health Coach, Why Now?
As a Certified Health Coach with a functional approach to wellness, I have a firm belief in taking accountability and responsibility for our own health. As a graduate of HCI (Health Coach Institute) with over 14 years of self study and almost two years of coaching experience, I help others live more optimally no matter their health concerns or issues.
I am a 41-year-old South Louisiana native living in Florida for the past 20 years. I have a passion for bringing awareness to our food, body, health and mind. Americans are sicker than ever and it truly does NOT have to be this way. I feel my life's purpose is to empower others to take charge of their own health and take simple action steps to prevent and reverse chronic health conditions. Being sick and diseased is no way to live. So many people aren't even aware how amazing they can actually feel because feeling bad has become the norm. THERE IS A BETTER WAY!
My health journey started 14 years ago, in 2003, when I began researching my dog's food. I learned about ingredients in processed food and where they come from. Then, I dove into food documentaries and learned that much of our food is made the same way and was made aware of the whole monopolizing food industry. I knew my husband and I had to change the way we looked at food and our health.
For 8 years I had a home business as a Graphic/Web Designer and got to the point where I worked 16-hour days rarely getting up from my desk. I felt stressed out, irritable, tired, moody and like crap most of the time. My stomach was bloated and I got sick often. My anxiety was at an all-time high and my husband and I argued a lot. I felt depressed and instead of that beaming smile, vibrant personality and creative spark I used to have, I looked dull & lackluster.
My husband and I got pregnant in 2008 and unfortunately, I had a miscarriage in the 2nd month. Later that same year, my mom died at 60 years old of a sudden heart attack. My father had triple bypass two years later. Prior to these events, my maternal grandmother suffered with diabetes for longer than I knew her and she had a leg amputated. Her hard-working farm husband became paralyzed and bed-ridden after having a stroke. After a year and a half in 1999, he passed away and she died 8.5 hours later. My paternal grandmother had Alzheimer's during her last several years and one of my aunts, her youngest daughter, was diagnosed with it at the early age of 52 and passed away at 58.
I always envisioned that I would live a long and healthy life, but these events were saddening and my future was looking bleak. My husband and I began making small, gradual changes, from our food to products in our home and even what we put on our bodies. We had a healthy baby boy in 2011.
I am thrilled to say I spent last year on a DEEP journey, becoming a Certified Holistic Health Coach and have been helping others reach their goals, whether it be to lower their blood pressure, lose weight, calm their digestive systems, eliminate their chances of diabetes or just find more balance in their lives. Most of the time we know what to do, but have a hard time following through without a support system and accountability.
This past November, I jumped right into an amazing GRADUATE Program, Holistic MBA! I'm beyond thrilled to work with YOU on specific health issues that you are dealing with. Of course, this is under your doctor's supervision when necessary.

Through my own personal growth journey, I have also learned that how we deal with stress is very important. We have to look at the way we are doing things, such as eating, and who we're being when we're doing these things. Stress can make a big impact on our body and lives. Being mindful and present helps us to manage the day to day stressors.
This awareness allows me to be fully present with my clients so I can support them in reaching their goals whether it's in health or life. How we do one thing is how we do everything, so when things start to improve in one area of life, the other areas improve too.
